With the improvement of the facilities, the application of the good agricultural practices in coffee and the respect of the standards on the coffees merchants of specialty, the objective is to realize a score of 90% and to triple the income of the farmer for each kg of coffee sold in 2020.

Coffee is one of the flagship products of fair trade, the most exported product after oil and publicly traded in international markets. However, few small producers in developing countries, especially in the DRC, benefit from a fair price, free from jolts of world prices of commercial products. The project that has just taken the first step is aligned with the principles of fair trade which has two objectives:

  • Create and foster conditions that enable farmers in poor countries to develop profitable and sustainable economic activity themselves,
  • Awaken consumers to the power of their economic power as buyers so that they can be actors of a global economic alternative promoting sustainable development, ethics, respect for these farmers, North-South dialogue. (Jean Renaudineau, 2007)
